No Coat Gang

I’m wondering if there is such thing in schools these days because my step son hates wearing coats during the winter how ever the basement is to cold which doesn’t make sense to me and on some days its to cold for him to walk the dog outside. but I feel at schools you got these teenagers that I call the “no coat gang” they say they are warm but really they are freezing just to look tougher call me crazy here I could be wrong but out right don’t get it so I stopped fighting with him about it if he wants to freeze thats a his problem not a my problem so far its worked out he goes to school in like 10 – 20 degree F temperature with no coat. I’ve even decided to toss some jokes saying ” its shorts day to day its 20 degrees” or “why you wearing those sweat pants for when you can wear shorts on nice day like this” he barley bats eye at me so I wonder is he actually cold?
